Feinstein Jr. Scholar Club – doing good deeds in our community!

Kids Klub and Dr. Day Care students join the Feinstein Jr. Scholar Club

Summer Camp students at Kids Klub and Dr. Day Care are focusing on service learning and doing good deeds.  Thanks to a generous donation from Alan Shawn Feinstein and The Feinstein Foundation, each student will receive an Official Membership card with access to free admission to nearby attractions such as Battleship Cove, The Blackstone River Boat Cruise, Mystic Aquarium and more.  What do the students need to do to receive this membership?  They just have to help “make the world a better place.”

“Helping to better the lives of others is the greatest of all achievements” – this quote from Alan Shawn Feinstein is on the cover of each student’s Keepsake Journal.  This journal provides the students with the opportunity to track the good deeds that they do and offers suggestions and inspiration to each child.

How are Kids Klub and Dr. Day Care students working to complete their good deeds?  The Feinstein challenge is built into the students’ curriculum.  Some examples are helping your teachers, doing acts of kindness in your neighborhood, lending a hand, making a difference in the environment, and helping people in need.  Students and teachers are also creating and adding to their “We Are Awesome” wall- a student-built display that encourages everyone to recognize their own and their peers’ good deeds.

Follow our good deeds with the hashtag #SummerFeinsteinChallenge on Facebook and Twitter (@drdaycareRI and @kidsklubRI).
