I began my profession in my home in Lincoln 53 years ago and grew to become the founder of Dr. Day Care! I’m always thrilled to share some of my great-grandparent wisdom with all the families who have entrusted their wonderful children to my dedicated and amazing staff.
This year, I’m going to focus on what I like to call “car conversations.” Since it’s winter, I’ll be talking about having a conversation with your child from daycare to your home.
I suggest you point out to your child all the beautiful colors of nature. Mention the beautiful white snow, point to the beautiful blue sky and white clouds and the green pine trees. Reminisce and mention to your child what you liked to do in the snow when you were a kid.
Through your car conversation, you’re teaching your child colors, social skills, and verbal skills. Most importantly, you’re giving your child your attention, which makes them feel valued and loved.
