Welcome Interns!

This summer we would like to welcome four talented young people to our Dr. Day Care and Kids Klub Team! Dr. Day Care and Kids Klub have worked with Skills for Rhode Island’s Future and the Prepare RI program to bring new and creative ideas to the classroom at Kids Klub Stephen Olney, DDC Home Office, and DDC Pawtucket locations. We have worked with Prepare RI for three years to engage with the wonderful young people in our communities. In welcoming these young people to our team, we wish to bring innovative ideas and concepts to our classroom.

About Prepare RI

Prepare RI has been working hard to create real-world learning opportunities for Rhode Island’s youth. They are strong believers in the importance of getting real-world work experience for young people and early exploration of career options. All Prepare RI interns attended a 40-hour work readiness boot camp that focuses on the importance of teamwork, community building, and professionalism.

Meet the Interns!

Julia Butera is an up-and-coming senior at Smithfield High School and has been helping at Kids Klub Stephen Olney and their STEM Advantage Program – World of Water lessons.

She has been a wonderful asset to the Kids Klub team at the summer camp here at Kids Klub Stephen Olney in North Providence. This curriculum is developed by Mystic Aquarium, with hands-on experiments each week focusing on testing local water, what a watershed is, and the importance of not polluting.

Julia also is a great team player! She always has a positive attitude and is ready for activities with the kids! She has assisted in many group games and crafts, as well as special visitors’ activities. The theme for summer camp is Discovering Life Lessons from the Magic of Disney, with a different Disney movie theme/focus each week. Julia is always ready to help the kids with projects that go along with these lessons.”
